Smith Expert Needed... stumped trying to find Reuben Harlow Smith's parents [closed]

Question

I'm hoping there is a Smith expert out there who likes to help guide newer Smith researchers like me.  Ida Emma Smith's parents are supposedly Reuben Harlow Smith (Smith-69939) and Emma Hibbard (Hibbard-575).  Emma Hibbard/Smith was supposedly born Sep 21, 1826 in St. Armand, Quebec and died in 1807 in Sheldon, Vermont.  I can't find Reuben Harlow Smith's burial, parents, or even a secure link to his daughter Ida Emma Smith from whom I am descendant.  Help getting me connected onto the right Smith branch would be appreciated.  I'd really like to join my smith family!  Thank you.

Sheldon Vermont .Have a birth date for Reuben H. Smith May 1819 Bas,Canada.

Children Reuben & Emma.  Flora Amelia Smith born 1848,Martha Minerva Smith

born 1850, Edward Farrington Smith 1853-1854,  Ella Bertha Smith born 1856,

Ida Emma Smith 1860-1929.Found no birth records for Reuben.

I too am a descendant of Ida Emma Smith. I've been trying to pin down a birthdate as well as parents for Reuben H. Smith as his death certificate would make his birthday be about May 6 1819 but the info according to his marriage certification and the available census for the US in 1870 and in Canada for 1851 and 1861 show him being born more likely in 1817.
