Was this Anschitil a viscount?

I see under names he is listed as a Viscount. I was wondering if it is fact or left over from a mix up.

I know we are decadents of an Anschitil De Ros who was an under tenant of Bishop Odo.  I don't know if they would technically be considered Nobility or just a middle man. I do know the family was well enough to do that later on some of there own disendants where Recorded as having had there own arms. More than one was a knight and it is said some even refused to become knights. Not exactly sure how that works. It seems my family found its self at odds with the Crown more than once.

Thank you. The children for my Ancestor are different. I believe the Viscount and my Ancestor are  different people. We only know my Ancestor was in the DoomsDay Book not the family connections of the other Ros or who his father was.
