Did Rysbury go missing at sea or was he an errant husband who abandoned his wife and child?

Being a mariner, Rysbury managed to avoid census records. Perhaps he was always at sea during the census?

He recorded his son's death in 1852 in Sunderland but there is no documentation to track him after that.

His wife Sarah (Bulmer) remarried some years after that. Did she wait until he could be declared dead having gone missing?

Any information would be most appreciated.
