On edit, one receives the message, "FindAGrave - Multiple profiles link to same grave ID Help →FindAGrave: 54741722"
Does the "error report" or suggestions list give the identification of the other WikiTree profiles, and how do we access it?

On 31 Mar 2022 Seely (Kenny) Foley wrote on Crosse-15:

This profile is a mixture of several different men named John Crosse who lived in Maryland in the late 1600s. Please see the profile of [[Crosse-49|John Crosse]] and his son, John Crosse where primary sources have been matched to the John Crosse who died in Anne Arundel County. He was the father of just two sons. The John Cross who lived in the Back River area of Baltimore County was possibly descended from the William Cross who died in Talbot County in 1679. More research is needed to prove his background. It's hard when the name is a common one.

How do I get to the suggestion app?  Did you enter the two WikiTree ids or did you enter the Find A Grave memorial number to find the results?
Just go to either of the profiles, use the pull down menu under the WikiTree ID and go to the link "Suggestions"
Thank you.  That is easy, once you know where it is.

Oh, my!  That is quite a lot of "suggestions" to resolve.  So, if I mark the "error" as "fixed" when I edit a profile, am I required to enter anything in the suggestion report, or will it update on its own?

Sorry if I am being a nuisance.
Hi Janne

you can mark the suggestion as fixed and it will then not display untill the recheck is done - if not fixed it will appear again - if fixed it wont show

You may have missed the recheck for this week and so it will show again when the next report comes out in a day or so but will then be cleared on the next recheck ( done weekly)
Okay, thank you.  I remember another process that we used to use where we had to update the status on the error list.  Hopefully, editing the profile and marking it "fixed" has expedited that process.  Onward and Upward!

You can also get to the suggestions on WikiTree+ on edit page. There is a link above the suggestions.

WikiTree+ Suggestions Help   [view on WikiTree+]
These suggestions are updated once a week. They may not account for the recent changes, e.g. on 22 May 2022.

Suggestion Status used to be set only on WikiTree+. But since they are displayed also on Editpage, it can be set on either end. The two databases synchronize automatically. There are some more options to set on WikiTree+, but usually statuses on editpage are enough.

I have been using WikiTree for years and seen tech make great strides.  The only think I miss, lately is the ability to easily show the descendant lists.  This used to be a great tool for comparing two families like the two John Cross(e) families that I am trying to make sense of here.
to see the suggestions for your Watch List, you would select Suggestion under the My Wikitree drop down list.  When you select it under the Wikitree ID menu on a profile, it gives you the suggestions for that profile and the 'ancestors' of that profile, but you are not responsible for all of those.

Sometimes that Suggestion is caused because there are 2 related people, such as father and son, so the one that doesn't match the page needs to have the Find a Grave template added with sameas=no

Other times, the same Find a Grave page is referenced on 2 profiles that should be merged or possibly it has been added to a profile that it should not be on. Comparing the 2 profiles mentioned in your question and the Find A Grave page, Crosse-15 has the same dates, but the birth location is different (biography states birth is biography but the location at the top of the page has England).  It has the same parents and wife, but there i no gravestone so that also makes everything somewhat questionable and not necessarily reliable.  Crosse-49 dates do not match, but they could be the same person.  Biography in Crosse-15 mentions 2nd wife is the wife in Crosse-49. Crosse-49 states he couldn't be married to Rachel at the same time.  The children on both profiles are born about the same time, so there is a problem with those profiles,
In this case, what I have discovered is that the Find A Grave memorial is a conflagration of the two individuals, with date of birth of one and date of death of the other.  This poor family is a mess and the results of many merges.
