Who were Richard Northcott's (1605) Father and mother?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I've been doing some family research on my family who are the Northcott's of Hatherleigh (via my ancester Arscott Northcott who moved from Hatherleigh to Exeter to London).

The furthest I've got is Oliver Northcott 1634 and his father Richard Northcott 1605 and his wife Anna Norcot or Kigbear (Keckbeer). Do you have any ancestry that goes back further or that perhaps links in to the Northcotes of Crediton (16th Century wool merchants) or hopefully further back still to a Norman ancestor.

I've tried the Devon Heritage Trust and they didn't have any records that went back for Okehampton further than 1634. I've reached a bit of an impasse. Its possible that Richard Northcott (1605) came from the Inwardleigh area but I'm not sure. Did the Okehampton/Hatherleigh Northcotts come from Inwardleigh or another Devon village before this. Do they derive from the Medieval Manor at Burrington or in some way to that of East Down? I can't find any evidence.

Kind Regards,

Ian Northcott
