Brick Wall after Great Great Grandfather

Question

Hello Everyone! I've been researching..or trying to research my father's side.

 I will give a run down:

My name is Heather Todd-Married to Michael Skelton

My father is Michael Todd-Married to Diana Thomas. Birthday is 9/16/1950.

My grandfather is Robert Todd-Married to Jean V. Dupuis. His birthday is 11/14/1917

My Great Grandfather is Raymond A. Todd-married to Ella Pardick, birthday 11/22/1886

My great great grandfather is William R Todd married to Annie Mackee. Birthday is 6/25/1858. He was born in Canada and it is believed he came to the US in 1875.

And that's it. I have no other information past that. I am looking for William R Todd's parents. According to one census it did say his father was born in Scotland and his  mother was born in Ireland, but no names.

Thank you so much. It does look like this could be a possible match. There are a few things that are not adding up. For example, I can't find that my William R Todd had a sister named Elizabeth. Also, I know that one marriage certificate for William and Anna says that William's parents were born in Scotland and Ireland. The William you sent me has that the parents were both born in Ireland

You have done something exceptional for a Rookie on WikiTree.  You have actually created a profile for the person you are asking about?  The fact that you have a branch leading up to him is awesome and more helpful that you realize.  

Often we get just a name, no context.  Like, "who is my grandfather John Smith married to"?  Sorry I can't help, too much work to find out who you are talking about.

Do this, in your question box near the bottom where it asks for the profile id you are talking about, add this Todd-11595 Williams WikiTree ID, you can see it at the top of the profile).  It will provide a link directly to your person of question and we can begin to see the relationships, dates and locations which are necessary to cracking your case.

I will give it a go and thank you for asking and doing the necessary preliminary work needed.   Remember, we work from the known to the unknown. So as much detail as you can provide on the known will be helpful.

Family Search has some details, it was a bit of a mess, maybe still is.  I did some merging on FS but his profile needs more work there but there is more info you can add to WikiTree.

Ancestry.com has his death certificate, Certificate No. 232 1321 dated April 1, 1928, issued by Wayne County, Michigan, which reflects his death on April 1,1928. It says his birth was on June 25, 1857, in Canada and, interestingly, while it  says the names of his mother and his wife are unknown, it says his father is "George" and it gives his father's place of birth as Scotland.
