John Hood - An interesting character

Question

I just wanted to draw attention to this profile for John Hood, who is the great grandfather of the previous Swedish prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt.

I would like to point out that the news articles from the end of 19th century Sweden about John, a black man, can be upsetting.

But wow what a life he must have lead. Wonder if anyone can find out more about his origins?

hmmm....I do wish I could connect my great grandfather Julius Rehnfeldt (1870-1913) to this story somehow. His father is unknown and he adopted the name Rehnfeldt about the turn of the century.

Alas, the timing is all wrong and there's no African in my mother's DNA.
