Advice before adding of this pre-1700 MacKenzie profile?

I can add a father to the profile of Janet (MacKenzie) MacLeod of Kintail. This is who I can add:

  • John Iain MacKenzie, 9th Lord of Kintail

These are the sources I am using:

  • en.wikipedia.org>wiki>John_9th_of_Kintail

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

The wikipedia article and other reliable sources don't give the 9th Earl a daughter named Janet

I don't think she lived 118 years ?
He wasn't an Earl.

The Scotland Project has a list of reliable sources one of which is The Scots Peerage. This would be a good source to check . It is referenced in the wikipedia article for the 9th Lord of Kintail but as Eddie say's that article  doesn't mention any daughters.

Edit: We already have another, also unsourced,  Janet MacKenzie 1504,  d of  John of Kintail. I will propose a merge.

I don't think she was married to Alexander McLeod. Not seeing sources (locations, ages).Maryland settlement too early and far-stretched.
