Port-Royal, Acadia, Canada was taken over by the British under Francis Nicholson in 1710 and he renamed it Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, Canada. And in 1713 under the treaty of Utrech Acadia was granted to th British.
So officialy the name change took effect in 1713 but many, like myself, use the 1710 date to make the change from Port-Royal, Acadia to Annapolis, Nova Scotia.
