why is this profile tagged with fraud tags?

Marie Anne Denis de Fronsac is tagged with both the Forsyth de Fronsac and the Charles Henry Browning fraud categories.  Since she was real, and I have source documents from the time for her, really don't understand why she got these tags.  Any ideas?

You could ask Sunny Clark, who added the tags.

It is certainly an error.  Looking at the sources there are on the profile it is a real person.  I would remove those 2 categories.

done.  :D
It’s not necessarily an error.  Check with the person who added the categories.
It's not necessarily an error. The profile might:

- Have been at some point attached to incorrect parents in connection with a fraud

- Have been at some point attached to an incorrect spouse

- Have had incorrect children attached as part of a fraud.

In any case, an explanation in the profile would be useful (even essential).
well, none of those apply, I created the profile myself, and have sources for her that have original documents attached.
Except the bit about needing to explain why she thought the profile could be connected to a fraud :-)
the father has the category already, and that's the one I discussed with Sunny Clark before.  No need to carry it down forever.

I think it used to say something about persons in the category have had their pedigree "affected" by a fraud. So it may not be Marie herself, but her parents... great grandparents etc. or someone else in the line.

Yes.  You also see this on blameless people who've been falsely claimed as the ancestor of an immigrant.
thanks, I have taken it out, there may be a fraud involved somewhere, but not in the ones I can see here.  She's a cross-over between Acadie and Canada colonies of New France.
The category page expains that it doesn't mean the person themself is fabricated. It doesn't have the big warning template.
"This category is a location to identify the profiles of people whose biographies and family histories have been affected (or in some cases may have been affected) by Forsyth's fabrications. "Affected" is the operative word -- listing in this category does NOT mean that the profile itself is fraudulent; hopefully it is listed because the fabrication has been identified and corrected."
There may be a very good reason that they were there. So removing them might not be the best idea. Check with Sunny who added them.

This does underscore the importance of adding an explanatory note somewhere on the profile as to why a fraud category has been added.  In what way does the fraud affect the accuracy of this profile?
Hmm, something needs to be done about the categories for frauds then, maybe create one like ''ancestry sometimes wrongly assigned by Forsyth or something'', I know it's long, but would definitely be more appropriate that a category that says Forsyth Fraud.  We are becoming the go-to place where people come to look up genealogies of their families, and if a profile shows a fraud category at the top, the uninitiated won't go look at the definition of the category.  I have run across this category before, Sunny and I were briefly in contact over a common ancestor over it.  But tagging all the descendants seems inappropriate to me.
Yeah, I don't think tagging all the descendants is appropriate, but certainly the profiles of people who may have had bad data attached to them at some point.  And the profile itself should make clear how that person's info was affected by the fraud.
