Update as far as I can tell this is the correct lineage. I have no doubt about it. I have studied everything I can find on this family. I highly doubt any research will be found to change Mr Norman Graham's conclusion. His work disproves the older works and any new works based on those. According to the current Known facts that means all male Male decendant of this family are entitled to the ancient arms. It also means we are Gentleman and Decendants of a gentry family. By Gentleman I mean the historical definition of one entitled to arms and the lowest rank of the historical gentry class. We are not as far as I can tell Royalty or noblity. Our Ancestors of the Gentry Class were commoners but above the Yeomen and under the Nobility. I am thinking about wrighting a new family history. Hopefully one day we can prove our lineage to the College of Arms. This however takes alot of time and money. While not something we have to do it is something I believe we should try to do. However being that we are hairs to these arms we do not need anybody's permission. I know some might disagree with me about some of my points. I also know some might disagree an say the line is only probable. Yet as the facts stand we are legitimate Decendants of the armigerous Puttenham family and I stand with the factsSir Roger de Puttenham Proved by plea Robert de Puttenham Proved by settlement Henry de Puttenham Norman Graham list Henry as the father of John John de Puttenham of Eddlesborough Most recent researchers list John as the father of Richard.
