On February 15, 1585 young Hanns Hoffman, son of Hannsen Hoffman, from Kochersteinfeld, married Margereta, daughter of the deceased Wendel Aichern (Aicher) from (Steins here ?) and went to church on the above mentioned day.

I have problems to read the name of the village the bride came from. It could be Steins.., Stems.. or Stenis...

I cannot find a village with that names nearby Kochersteinfeld. It could be the old village Stein (today a town district of Neuenstadt am Kocher) with the suffix "hier" (here) because there are a lot of villages named Stein in Germany.

Thank you Dieter.   I need help on about 1 out of every 30 records I find, mostly when there is a name, or village I can't make out. (I found another record and thought the family name was "Aichhorn".  It would probably be easier if I spoke German and knew more of what to expect the records to say. (I'd probably find more clues too)

Aichern and Aichhorn could be the same name. People wrote words like they understand them.
