I've uploaded the signature (with frame) of an ancestor and want to use it as the primary image.  But I want it to be larger.  How do I accomplish that??

It sounds like something you would do on your computer before uploading, not online through wikitree.

If you still have the image on your computer, open it with an image editing program that you are comfortable with... any one will do.  Change the size of the image (in some programs that choice is listed in the properties catagory).  Save the new image with a new name, then upload it and you should have no trouble.  An image can be made as large as 8.5 x 11 inches at 300 dpi for example, or bigger.  I think 10 meg is the largest accepted.

Good luck.  I hope this helps!

Well, I made it twice as large, but it doesn't change the size of it on the Wikitree profil page.

Ah... in the profile section....see Gaile's answer for that.

Well, I didn't mean in the profile -- I know how to adjust that -- I meant the little picture

that appears on the home (?) page for a particular individual -- the little image to the left of his/her name and under the word Wikitree.  It looks as tho there is plenty of space there for the image to be twice as big.

For a primary photo Wikitree should provide more space anyway, IMHO.

Oops - forget my answer for that!!!  I believe that the size of the picture used next to the profile is standardized for all of WikiTree and you have no control over its size.  What I wrote was only for controlling picture sizes in the profile itself.  Sorry to burst your balloon!

You can specify the width of displayed picture (in pixels) when you insert the tag for the image file:

where filename is the name of the image file as it is stored on WikiTree and ### is the number of pixels.

You can experiment with larger and smaller numbers to see what looks right to you.  I recommend starting with 200 - it might be the same size as it is right now, but at least you'll have a starting point to play with the width numbers.

I am drooling over the job you did on that page - fantastic bio and stunning formatting!!!
