Revolutionary War Gen. Robert McConnel is mentioned on pg 40 Washington County Underground Railroad as the founder of McConnelsville in 1817. Another source for the town in Morgan County being named after the Rev. War General is found at http://eastern_rendezvous.tripod.com/history.html
