James Grant #34 was indentured to iron works in Kittery, Maine (see Saugus Iron Works, Lynn, MA. 1653). James Grant b 1630 Moriston, Inverness Shire, Scotland (pow Battle of Dunbar 3 Sep 1650) married Joannah Ingersoll, daughter of George Ingersoll 2 Jul 1618 Sutton, England-20 Jul 1694 Salem, MA. & Elizabeth Lunt 1621-1694.

"James, son of Peter and Joan Grant, married (1) 6 Oct. 1693, Mary, dau. of Jonathan and Sarah (Jenkins) Nason, (2) before 1709 Rachel, dau. of Daniel and Patience Stone. He was living in 1735." Grant-3871 and Grant-5379 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicates

The only Grants I know of in Maine in the 17th century were descendents of Peter Grant "the Exile" who was exiled by Cromwell to America. Google search him and you may find a connection to your James.
