A John Turnbull died in South Shields (which included Boldon Colliery) in 1881, age 60.[10]
John's christening record has location Sedgefield Durham, but on many of the census returns he is recorded as born in Sunderland, except the 1871 and 1881 which shows Sedgefield - but all other details are correct to accept that this is the same family. Humphrey-6461 21:32, 9 October 2018 (UTC)
I have tried to trace a relationship from John to Isabella Barron and Barbara Barron, ages 12 and 10, who were lodging with John's family at the time of the 1881 England and Wales census. John's mother's maiden name was Oliver, and there is another Miss Oliver in Sedgefield at about the right time - possibly John's aunt? - who married a Mr James Barron - these could conceivably be the parents of Isabella and Barbara's father William Barron. So John would be a cousin of Isabella and Barbara's father. But I cannot make the connection Humphrey-6461 22:01, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
