Lizzie (Turfrey) Ireland migrated from England to New Zealand.
Birth
Lizzie was born in 1869 in Hanborough, Oxfordshire.[1] She was the daughter of Thomas Turfrey and Eliza (Berry) Turfrey. Her baptism took place at St Peter and St Paul, Hanborough on 21st February 1869.[2] Her father stated on the register that he was a labourer and that the family were living in Hanborough at the time.

Emigration
Thomas, wife Eliza and children Sarah, William, George, Edwin, Lizzie, Jane and Kate emigrated on the "Winchester" which left the UK on 2nd May 1874. and arrived in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand on 27th July 1874.[4] The records show they came from Oxfordshire and that Thomas was a railway labourer.
Marriage
Benjamin Ireland and Lizzy Emily Turfrey were married in 1886.[5]
Death
Lizzie died on Sunday 10th September 1933 at the age of 64. [6] She was buried on her own in Plot 034 at Forest Gate Cemetery at Onga Onga in central Hawkes Bay, a few miles roughly north-west of Waipukurau.
Notes
Burial record gives her birth date as 11th January 1869 but birth date is not on the baptism register so the birth registration would need to be checked to confirm this date so set to date on the profile to uncertain. Her birth was registered as Lissie Turfrey but she was baptised as Lizzie Emily.
