John Stewart was born in Scotland.

John Liddle Stewart was born at Cockburn farm, Duns, Berwickshire, Scotland. on 9th June 1900 at 04.10hrs. [1]

At the time of his birth the family were living at Cockburn Farm in the Parish of Duns where his Father was employed as a Farm Servant. [1]

He is the son of William Black Stewart and Mary Liddle. who were married 15th may 1896 at Abbey St Bathans [1]

John Liddle Stewart had three brothers and Seven Sisters. He lived and worked as a farm labourer and Shepherd on several farms in the Berwickshire area all his life. [2]

John Liddle Stewart married Jane Burnett on 8th June 1923 at Edrom Manse after Banns at Fogo Church on 3rd June 1923. At the time of marriage John Liddle was residing at Rislaw, Parish of Fogo, and Jane was residing at Turtleton Farm, Duns. [3].

John Liddle Stewart died at Paxton South Mains, Paxton, Berwickshire, Scotland, on 15th March 1967 aged 66 years. [4]

John Liddle Stewart is buried at Hutton Cemetery. [5]
