William Stewart was born in Scotland.

William Black Stewart was born at 7.20AM on 13th March 1876 at Bogangreen in the Parish of Coldingham, Berwickshire, Scotland. [1]

At the time of his birth the family were living at Bogangreen Farm where his Father was employed as the Farm Steward.[1]

He is the son of William Stewart and Christiana Black who were married 2nd June 1871 in Parish of Cockburnspath.[1]

William married Mary Liddle on 15th May 1896 at Abbey St Bathans Manse after Banns according to the forms of the Established Church of Scotland. At the time of marriage William and Mary were both residing at Blackerstone, near Abbey St Bathans in the Parish of Longformacus where William was employed as a Ploughman. [2]

William B Stewart, a retired Farm Worker, died of Myocarial degeneration and Cardiac Asthma at Lintlaw, Chirnside, Berwickshire, Scotland, on 29th July 1948 aged 72 years.[3]

William is buried at Preston Old Churchyard.[4]
