Jane (Burnett) Stewart was born in Scotland.

Jane Burnett was born at Hawkslaw, Coldstream, Berwickshire, Scotland. on 8th June 1897 at 15.15hrs. [1] At the time of her birth the family were living at Hawkslaw Farm, Coldstream where her Father was employed as a Ploughman. [1] She is the daughter of James Burnett and Mary White. Jane was baptised at Hawkslaw, in Coldstream Parish on the 10th August 1897 by Arch. Nisbett, minister of Coldstream.[1]

Jane had Four Brothers, One Half Brother, Four Sisters and Two Half Sisters. She lived on various Farms around the Berwickshire area until husband John Died. At that time she moved into the village of Cockburnspath. [2]

Jane married John L Stewart on 8th June 1923 at Edrom Manse, Edrom after Banns at Duns Parish Church on Sunday 5th June 1923. At the time of marriage Jane was residing at Turtleton Farm, Duns. John, a Ploughman was residing at Ryslaw, in the Parish of Fogo..[3]

Jane died of Coronary Thrombosis as a result of Coronary Artery Disease at her home, 8 Crofts Acre, Cockburnspath, Berwickshire, Scotland, on 23rd July 1976 aged 80 years. [4]
