Biography

Oscar was born in 1864 to Samuel Stevenson and Kate (McDonald) Stevenson. He first married Mary Crozer Taylor and they had children Alfred T (1889), Samuel H (1891), and Richard (1895). Mary passed away before the 1900 census. Oscar married Alice Conard Buckman in 1906, and she appears in documents as the mother of his children from the first marriage.

Details from the marriage application of Oscar and Mary C. Taylor: He is 23, she is 21. Both reside in Chester, Delaware, Pennsylvania. Parents: Samuel H and Kate Stevenson; Alfred and Minah Taylor decd. Occupations: driver and none. Applied and licensed 29 Jun 1887. No. 543.

His birth date is given as 1 Feb 1962, 1 Feb 1864, and as late as 1867 (1910 census).
