Janet was born 16 October and baptized before the congregation on 21 October 1770 in the Church of Scotland Parish of North Berwick[1]. She was a "lawful daughter" of John Runciman and Elizabeth Panton (sic). John was "Servant to Sir George Suttie" Baronet of Balgone 1736–1783[2].

George Nisbet1800-25 Dec 1860[8] George's father died when he was 16. He was convicted in Edinburgh 6 November 1820. Left for Van Diemen's Land on 8 April 1821 on the Countess of Harcourt, sentenced to life imprisonment. Arrived 27 July 1821. Tasmanian archives database #52970 George was sent to the infamous Sarah Island as punishment for stealing a boat with intent to escape the Colony. and was 12.10.1846 given a conditional pardon which was extended 3.2.1859. Convict muster roll CS01/1/356 8123 He died 25 Dec 1860 name spelled (Nesbit) New Norfolk, Tasmania, Australia Occupation shoemaker and was buried Back River Methodist, New Norfolk
