Biography
Thomas Peffers was born on 17 September 1812 at Thornton, Innerwick, Haddingtonshire and baptised on 27 September 1812 in Innerwick, son of William Peffers and Ann (Runciman) Peffers. [1]
In 1841 he lived at Meiklerigg, Stenton, Haddingtonshire where he was an agricultural labourer. [2]
He married Agnes Bookless 0n 8 April 1844 in Cockburnspath, Berwickshire. [3] They had 4 children.

On 31 July 1844 he and his wife emigrated to Canada, sailing from Greenock, Renfrewshire to New York on board the Phoenix. [4]
In 1852 he lived at Blandford, Oxford, Canada West where he was a farmer. [5]
