Susannah Northcott immigrated to New Zealand aboard the Timandra in 1841 with her parents James and Mary, age about seven.[3]
Susan (Northcott) Lambert lived in New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand.
She married Thomas Scandlyn on the 29 July 1851 in the Independent Chapel, New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand.
Thomas died in a fire at a Raupo hut at Urenui, in the New Plymouth District, Taranaki, New Zealand.
Thomas was a labourer clearing fern on the land, just north of New Plymouth on the 16 March 1867.
She passed away on the 1 October 1877 in Inglewood, Taranaki, New Zealand.
[5]she was buried in the Te Henui Cemetery, New Plymouth District, Taranaki, New Zealand.[6]
Note: Susannah (Northcott) is Elsie (Olson) Hagley's great-great-grandmother and I’m very proud of her, my husband John and I are farming inland from Urenui, it is very hard country especially with all the challenges with Mother Nature, flooding with the Urenui river, plus much more. I feel as though I’m reliving her life and cannot imagine the hardships she must have gone through with her large family, in those days there wasn’t all the modern gadgets and machinery that we now have in the 21 century.
RIP my dear sweet Great-great-grandmother, my thoughts are with you.
