James Scandlyn lived in Feilding, Manawatu-Wanganui}, New Zealand.

James was born about the 16 Feb 1863 in the New Plymouth District, Taranaki, New Zealand. He was the son of Thomas Scandlyn and Susan Northcott. [1]

He married Mary Ann (Merrett) Scandlyn on the 3 July 1889 at St George, Turakina North island, New Zealand. [2] They had at least seven children;

  1. Arthur Whittington Merrett, b. 1888, d. 1944,
  2. Alfred Thomas Scandlyn, b. 1890 - 1922,
  3. Susan Jane Scandlyn, b. 1892 - 1980,
  4. Phyllis Melvina Scandlyn, b. 1894 - 1976,
  5. Stanley George Scandlyn, b. 1896 - d After 1984
  6. Stella Elizabeth Scandlyn, b. 1900 d, After 1982
  7. Sidney James Scandlyn, b. 1902 - ?

James passed away about the 17 October 1942 in Feilding, Manawatu District, Manawatu-Wanganui, New Zealand, age 79. [3] He was buried at the Feilding Cemetery, Manawatu, New Zealand .[4]
