James was born in 1884.[1] He was the son of Thomas Miller and Margaret Sneddon.
At the time of the 1901 Census james, his parents and 10 siblings were living in the village of Banton in Stirlingshire.[2]

He passed away in 1904.
James is commemorated on his parents headstone [3] in Kilsyth Cemetery, but no record has been found of his death in Scotland. There is some evidence to indicate that he may have died in the USA.
