Isobel McAdie was named as the mother of Donald McAdie who was baptised in Watten, Caithness, on 25 July 1824.[1] Scottish baptism records show the maiden name of the mother - the fact that Isobel is recorded as "Isobel McAdie" indicates that this was her surname at birth.
In 1841 Isobel was living with her husband Robert McAdie and children William, Janet, Elizabeth and Donald in Dunn in the parish of Watten, Caithness[3]. Robert's trade was "farmer". Also living with the family was ten-year-old Elizabeth Munro whose parents lived nearby in South Dunn[4].
In 1851 the family was at Paddockfield, Watten, Caithness, Scotland[5].
