Alexander McAdie was born in 1774.
- entry reads: "Donald Mackadie in Northdun and Janet Macbeth his spouse had a son baptized named Alexander before Witnesses Donald Henderson in North dun and Peter Tate there."[1]
He was identfied as the father of Alexander McAdie who was baptised in Watten, Caithness, on 6 May 1832.[2]
Alexander McAdie Senior is recorded on the 1851 census as living in Langergill, in Watten, where his trade was "farmer of 20 acres". Also living on the property were his wife Isabel and sons Ralph, William, Donald and Alexander.[3]
