Annie Susan Matters was born in 1884 at Tower Hill, Victoria, Australia. She was the daughter of Brightman Matters and Nora Dixon. ^[1]

She married John Gubby on 8 July 1911 at Port Melbourne, Victoria. ^[2]

She died, aged 79, in December 1963 at Heidelberg, Victoria and was buried on 16 December 1963 at Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery, Coburg. ^{[3] [4]}
