Thomas Matters was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

Thomas John Dixon Matters was born about 1887 at Port Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He was the son of Brightman Matters and Nora Dixon.

He married Emily Robinson in 1916 in Victoria. Emily died in 1926. ^[1]

He married his second wife, Fredrica Penrose in 1936 in Victoria. ^[2]

He died, aged 64, on 30 May 1950 at Port Melbourne, Victoria. He was buried on 1 June 1950 at Preston General Cemetery, Bundoora, Banyule City, Victoria. ^{[3] [4]}
