Biography
Margaret was born on 19 Aug 1879. She was the daughter of Michael Manson and Jenny Renwick[1].
In 1881 her father Michael was 24, a Store Clerk, married to Jane, living in Nanoose Bay, Vancouver Island with their daughters Margaret Manson, 1 and Robina Jane Manson, 3 months[2].
Unfortunately Margaret died on 22 May 1881[3][4]. She was buried in the Nanaimo Municipal Cemetery, Nanaimo, British Columbia.
At the time of her birth, her family lived in Nanaimo and her father was a merchant and store owner. He would later become a justice of the peace and a Conservative MLA in the BC Legislature, representing Comox from 1909 to 1916 and Mackenzie from 1924 until his death in 1932. The community of Mansons Landing on Cortes Island was named after him and several of the family's descendants still live on the island[5][6].
