Research Notes

Baptism

It is unclear whether the bulk baptism document is reaffirming that the children have previously been baptised to this congregation as the baptism dates range from 1771-1782 they definitely were not all baptised on the same day.[6]
There are individual records for the baptisms, the location for all is Bowden, Roxburghshire. Bowden is approx 4 miles from Melrose and 3.5 miles from Midlem
A guess: perhaps the family moved and it was necessary to provide baptism documents to the new congregation.
If anyone has any information that might clarify this please post

Margaret's parents / Link to William the Dancing master Henderson-2297

IF we have all the children for James & Margaret, and IF they followed the naming pattern, then the 1771 Margaret born 15 Jan 1771 at Bowden to John & Betty (MAIBON) MAIBON, bap. 27th is indeed a highly likely match.
Which by place may indeed indicate that William the dancing master, born Bowden, does belong to James & Margaret, as DNA is indicating[3]

Mabon-18 and Maibon-2 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicate, using Maibon as LNAB because it appears that way on the birth certificate
