Mary Ann Kay was born on June 29, 1916, in Central, Pickens, South Carolina, United States, daughter of John Samuel Kay (1877–1925) and Annie Estelle McCall (1882–1966). [1] [2]
She married Walter Madden (1907–1962).
After Walter's death she married Elzie Humer Monroe (1906-1982).
Mary died on September 5, 1993, in Central, aged 77. [3] She is buried in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Seneca, South Carolina. [4]
