Biography

John Samuel Kay was born on October 11, 1877, in Oconee, South Carolina, United States, son of Samuel B Kay (1853–1877) and Hepzebah Marie Spears (1857–1920). [1]

John (23) married Annie Estelle McCall (18) (born on October 3, 1882, in Pickens, Pickens, South Carolina, United States) on April 14, 1901. [2] [3]

Their children were:

  1. Leona (Kay) Jenkins (1902-1971)
  2. Seth George Kay (1905-1979)
  3. John Lemuel Kay (1908-1977)
  4. Ruth Kay (1909-1983)
  5. Obed Nathan Kay (1912-1979)
  6. Herman Cornelius Kay (1914-1973)
  7. Mary Ann (Kay) Monroe (1916-1993)

John died on May 25, 1925, in Richland, South Carolina, aged 47. [4] He was buried in Mount Zion Cemetery, Central, Pickens County, South Carolina. [5]
