Biography

Harriet was born in Dorchester in 1838.^[1][2] She was the daughter of William Dawe and Elizabeth (Phillips) Daw (1800-1875).^[2][3]

In 1851 she was 14 years old and was enumerated as being in the household of William Daw at Miller's Close, Fordington, Dorset.^[2]

In 1871 census she was resident at the home of her brother Robert, a Wesleyan Minister (Snowdrop Manor, Albion Street) in Stratton, Gloucestershire, together with her mother, Elizabeth, age 72.^[1]

In 1910 she sailed to South Africa ^[4]where it is possible she passed away.

Research Notes

https://genealogy.antipole.co.uk/database_public/ps05/ps05_061.html makes reference to a will dated 7/11/1917 filed in Master’s Office, Cape Town - this has not yet been followed up. The same site give here death as "aft. 1911. Age 72.
