Birth

Alpheus was born at Pocasset, Massachusetts, on 24 Jul 1781, the son of Obed Wing and Deliverance (Wing) Wing.^[1] See the Research Notes below.

Marriages

1. On 22 Nov 1805, Alpheus Wing of Wayne, Maine, and Rhoda True of Livermore, Maine, published at Livermore their intention to marry.^[2] They married on 27 Nov 1805.^[1]
2. Alpheus Wing married Clarissa Judkins of Readfield. Maine (then in Massachusetts) on 9 Oct 1817.^[1]
3. Alpheus Wing married Mrs. Hannah Besse of Wayne, Maine (then in Massachusetts) on 28 Feb 1820.^[1]

Research Notes

1. A record in the Maine Births and Christenings, 1739-1900 database gives his place of birth as Wayne, Maine.^[3] His sketch in "The Wing Family in America" says that he was born at Pocasset, Massachusetts, and moved to Wayne when he was 16, after the death of father.^[1]
2. The sketch in the 1919 "The Wing Family in America" has a number of interesting details about the life of Alpheus Wing.^[1]
