in part: "Ruth, orphan of Jno. Wilkinson and Sarah his wife, dec'd, by Capt. Wm Randolph, her guardian, bring action agst Wm Fetherston who marryed Mary, relict of Henry May, dec'd, now administrator..." (p 78 - 84 of 255)

That part seems to support Jno. & Sarah Wilkinson being parents of Ruth (next page has a heading for a court held 3 June 1690, so this record is probably from the previous heading). A search for Wilkinson finds a 14-year-old orphan of Jno. & Sarah named Jno. choosing Capt. Wm Randolph as his guardian (p 97 - 103 of 255)

Page 135 (141 of 255) has helpful details:

Maj. Stith and Capt. Luellin to fulfill an order of this court April 3, 1690 on action brought by Ruth an orphan of John Wilkinson and Sarah his wife, both dec'd, by Capt. William Randolph, her guardian, agst William Featherston, who married Mary, relict of Henry May, dec'd, because Mr. Edward Brain, assigned with Capt. Luellin to execute order, died before it was done. (apparently from "A Court Held for Orphans at westover 15 September 1692")

This profile has inconsistencies... ie: 1.) John's Birth place: England? Virginia? ... 2.) Marriage date (1659) vs birth date of oldest child (1656) .... 3.) age gap between first (b.1656) and second (1670) child. Perhaps this John Wilkinson had two wives... the first wife perhaps died young after birth of first child, then john re-married ?? ... but there still is an unexplained gap between a 1659 marriage date and the 1670 birth date of John's second child.

Perhaps one or some of the several managers of this Profile can sort out/reconcile... and edit out... these inconsistencies. The sources which I have studied for several years offer a confusing rats-nest of contradictions. Many of the accumulated "sources" shown in this profile are second-hand information from imported Ancestry files, and Robin Lee asserts that they are full of errors.

I am approving the proposed merge of this Profile with Wilkinson-4466 based on Robin Lee's comment posted on this Profile... because she cites an actual document.
