Communication Preferences: I am interested in communicating private message with anyone who shares the same ancestors. Here is my family tree.
I am interested in making contact with direct descendants of my Great Great Grandfather, John Alexander Whitehurst, who was mortally wounded in an attack by confederate sympathizers in 1862 in what was then Hillsborough County Florida (today's Pinellas County). He had three sons: Christopher Columbus Whitehurst, Winfield Scott Whitehurst, and my Great Grandfather, Harney Butler Whitehurst. He also had four daughters. We'd love to meet all of the cousins in maybe a John Alexander family gathering in a park sometime. Contact me through Wikitree if you are a direct descendant of John Alexander.

Hi Everubody that is chasing down the Whitehurst line. Does anyone have a copy of the will of James Whitehurst bd 1639. I have copies of his son James bd 1675 and his son Solomon. i would appreciate someone posting it if they have it.

Thanks for passing my contact info on...hopefully we can start a conversation/research on Elizabeth.

Kevin

For Elizabeth, I used the book "The Genealogy of the Sims Family" by Henry Upson Sims. It is not a primary source, but I found it to be useful and accurate.

A copy of chapter 6 is posted on Grace's wiki-page. The bottom of page 82 begins the write-up regarding Elizabeth. The footnotes on pages 83 and 84 contain additional information, but are intermingled with Grace's history/trial.

Using non-primary sources can be misleading, so I am open to discussion regarding this point.

Hi

Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.

Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As I always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

Thank you for being a Wikitreer,

Guy Constantineau - Wikitree leader

Thanks for tracking down WW Whitehurst, County Commissioners. Looks like you had quite the hunt to chase him down. Would it be OK if I added a paragraph about one of his duties being to approve the Civil War Pension Applications and a source to a page with his signature. My sources have more detail that what you usually use and I wanted to check before I added it.

I would indeed like to do what I can to help in your project. Like so many others, I got interested in our family history when my dad started to put it together many years ago. I hope to carry on the work that he started for my own children, and also for my wife's family. Thank you. rw

Hi again, I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'
