John Gingrich Wenger, 1765.3.24 1848.9.2, G181 <22,2754> CW RLW MAF Born in Lebanon Co., PA. Moved to Guilford, Twp., Franklin Co., PA with parents at about the age of 10. MAF Married Catherine Funk, 1765.6.12 1844.1.14 <22,2754> RLW gives that he married Catharine Rohneau/Rummele, 1765~, * ¼ JDG gives that he married Catharine Zook, 1765~, * ¼ John acquired property in Guilford Twp., Franklin Co. along what is now Swamp Fox Road. HHI has written on his descendants, particularly of James Thomas Wingard, 1852.10.27 1916.9.10, G181259 <140,331,333,2583,2641> Lorraine S. Hatcher, 1936.5.8, ¼ <675,1190> has researched John. CW states that his birth year is 1761. RHW gives his will dated August 24/6, 1842, probated Sept. 4, 1848 His date of death has been given as 1845.9.4 Will book E, page 199 (DLW believes this is not his will). DLW Will book D page 212 Will dated Aug. 24, 1842 proved Sept. 4, 1848. DRLP Both buried on the original homestead in Guilford Twp., (now called the John Miller farm family cem.) (83-5-9) His wife Catharine's grave is next to his with dates 1765.6.12 1844.1.14 (78-7-2) as well as two grandchildren (these dates are from a cem. listing done at an earlier time). DLW attempted to find his stone in 1998 but only found that believed to be Catharine's. The grave site is over-grown and very hard to find. The portion of his property with the grave site in later years was owned apparently by Henry Miller (there are Millers buried in the old grave site) and then by Benjamin Lehman who passed it to Emery S. Lehman who passed it to Ralph Lehman who passed it to Willis Miller Lesher, 1918.12.8, G141314121 <23,53,999,1578,2288> the current owner
