Benjamin was born in 1880, the son of Herbert Weaver and Sarah Blackwell. He married Ada Elizabeth Hollis in Wayne County, Tennessee on March 29, 1908.[1] Their children included:

Julius Terry Weaver (1912-1958)
Elsie Mae Weaver (1917-2006)
Hershel Weaver (1921-)
David Weaver (1924-1957)
Herbert Weaver (1928-)
In 1910, they lived in Civil District 8 of Wayne County, where Ben worked as a farm laborer on a home farm.[2] In 1920, they lived in Carning Township, where Ben farmed on his own account.[3] By 1930, Ben had opened his own blacksmith shop in District 2 of Lawrence County, Tennessee.[4] In 1940, the area was classified as Civil District 1, west of Shoal Creek and Iron City.[5]
