Biography
The son of Benjamin Weaver and Ada (Hollis) Weaver, Dave was born in Wayne County in 1924.[1][2] He enlisted in the United States Army when he was 18, on September 24, 1942. He served as a Staff Sergeant with Company M, in the Transportation Battalion, ASF Training Center. He was discharged on February 22, 1945.[3]
After the war, he married Dorothy Glenora "Dolly" Davis (1925-1998), the daughter of George Washington Davis and Mae Grantham, and worked as an electrician, residing in Cleveland, Tennessee. He died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident; he was 33 years old.[4] He is buried at [[Category|Crestlawn Cemetery, Polk County, Tennessee].[5]
His wife later remarried, marrying Arthur "Art" Sparkman, but divorcing. She passed away Copperhill, Tennessee in 1998.
