Biography

The son of Benjamin Weaver and Ada (Hollis) Weaver, Julius T. was born in Westpoint in 1912.^[1] In 1920, his family farmed in Carney Township, Tennessee.^[2] By 1930, his family had moved to District 2 of Lawrence Count, where his father opened a blacksmith shop.^[3] Julius married Nettie Sue Goolsby (1910-1994), the daughter of Samuel Andrew Goolsby and Elizabeth D. Rickmon; Nettie had a child born before their marriage, most likely born out of wedlock. Julius appears to have adopted her son, and had four children of his own with Nettie Sue:

3. Harold Glenn Weaver (1939-2010)
4. Kenneth Glenn Weaver (1939-1998)
5. Charlie Lynn Weaver (1942-2006)

According to the 1940 census, conducted in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee on April 25th, Julius had completed 7th grade; Nettie Sue had completed 8th grade. At that time, Terry worked as a pipe saw operator in a flooring mill.^[4] Julius T., according to his death certificate, was "found dead in the woods" in Iron City at the age of 45.^[5] He is buried in the family plot at Railroad Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee.
