Biography

Mary was probably born in Virginia and likely married her first husband Edmund New in or near Charles City County, where they lived and raised their family. Late in life they removed to western Henrico County. Edmund's will was recorded in 1727 in St. James Parish, which was soon to become Goochland County. Later Mary married Hugh Morris (who had witnessed Edmund's first will) between July and November 1728, as her son William first sued her then the couple concerning his father's estate. Mary passed away after June, 1749 when she and Hugh sold their remaining property in Goochland County.

Whellan-1 and Unknown-434995 appear to represent the same person because: Hello,

These profiles both represent Mary, the wife of Edmund New of James City and later Henrico County, Virginia. I'm proposing merging into the profile with an unknown maiden name since it seems speculative. Please accept the merge request. Thanks!
