Biography
Alfred Edward 'Pat' Thiess was born about 1912 at Drayton, Queensland, Australia. He was the seventh son of Henry Thiess and Mary Rutsch.
Together with Cecil, Stan, and Bert, Pat joined their brother, Leslie in a sizeable road-building contract in 1933. In 1939 the firm became Thiess Bros, and was incorporated as a proprietary company in 1946; eventually growing into a group of thirty or more interlocked enterprises.[1]
He married Esther Smith on 6th October 1934 at Queensland.[2]
He passed away on 14th July 1987 at Queensland.[3]
