William was born in 1820, 2nd son of John W. Spicer of Esher Place, Surrey. M.A. Christchurch, Oxford. He married Dorothea Halsey in 1849. He was Rector of Itchen Abbas, Southbourne, Hampshire 1850-74. He was a botanist and wrote about plants in Tasmania.[1]
He passed away in 1879. Probate (Principal Registry 12 Jun 1979): formerly of Itchen Abbas but lately of 26 Colville Road, Notting Hill, will proved by his widow.
