Both the 1841 and 1851 Census show John living with his family in Esher Place, [1].
The house had been purchased in 1805 by William's father John, who had it rebuilt.
He married Hannah Maria Theresa Webb in 1816 and they raised a family at Esher Place.
The 1851 Census also shows his birth place as Warley in Essex in 1790, but no baptism record has been found for a John William Spicer in this period (in either Esher or Warley).
He was clearly very successful. His occupation is Esq. J N, and he had a very large number of servants, as well as a large family (across a long period of time, at least 1817 to 1835).
He died at the family home in 1862, which was soon sold to a Mr Wigram
A Robert Spicer died in Brentwood, Essex in 1837 (https://www.findmypast.com/transcript?id=R_274919542), and Warley is now part of the town of Brentwood. No other Spicer's found in that period for the town/ area.
And it's not clear why he was born in Essex if the family lived in Esher, Surrey. Perhaps they had another property there? But no baptisms in the Esher area either.
There are other children, for example Newton John Spicer in 1850 in Esher, father John William: https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=R_858224040.
Newton John was baptised in 1823 in Esher, born 1822: https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=PRS%2FSURREY%2FBAP%2F0058134
