Biography

Minnie Nona Spencer was born to Richard and Eliza (Royster) Spencer in March of 1869 in Kentucky. In the 1870 Census, she is listed as residing with her family in Cairo, Henderson County, Kentucky.[1] In 1880, she was living with her family in Robards, Henderson County.[2] She attained a sixth-grade education.

On April 3rd, 1890, she married Joseph Walter Eblen in Henderson County. They had four children together.[3] In the Censuses for 1900, 1910, and 1920, she is listed as residing with her family in Robards.[4][5][6]

She lost her husband in 1924, and was living in her son-in-law's household in Robards according to the 1930 Census. She was working as a practical nurse at this time.[7] In 1940, she was living alone in Robards.[8]

Minnie passed away on January 6th, 1941 in Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana, and was buried at Spencer Cemetery in Henderson County.[9]
