Biography

Wilkins Bruce Spencer was born to Richard and Eliza (Royster) Spencer on September 28th, 1872 in Kentucky. In 1880, he was living with his family in Robards, Henderson County, Kentucky.[1] He attained a sixth-grade education.

On February 23rd, 1898, he married Eleanor Mae Stephens in Webster County, Kentucky. They had five children together. Bruce worked as a farmer for his entire life, and was an employer.[2] In 1900, he was living in the household of his father-in-law in Sebree, Webster County.[3] In the Censuses for 1910-1950, he is listed as residing with his family in Corydon, Henderson County.[4][5][6][7][8] He lost his wife in 1959.

Bruce passed away on October 8th, 1960 in Corydon, and was buried at Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole, Webster County.[9][10]
