The will of Mary E. Poteet In the name of God, Amen. I Mary E. Poteet, being of sound and disposing mind and memory but considering the uncertainies of this my earthly existance, do make publish and declare the following to be my last will and testament, that is to say: Item 1. It is my wish and desire that my body shall have a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my friends and relatives, and that my funeral expenses together with all my just debts, shall be paid by my executor hereinafter named from the first monies coming into hands from my estate. Item 2. My son, William Robert Poteet, having assisted my (me) in paying for my home and other real estate I now own, and having at all times since he has been of mature age, helped and assisted me largely in my support and living, helped me largely in paying off large street assessments, taxes and the cost of repair to the house and in every way been kind, thoughtful and considerate of me in my advancing age, and spent largely of his income and wages in my support and for my benifit, I feel that all the real estate of which I may die seized, should be devised to him as due and proper consideration for all he has expended in my behalf and for my comfort, and as some token of my appreciation for his sacrifice in my behalf. I therefore, hereby, give, bequeath and devise to my said son William Robert Poteet, all the real estate which I may die seized and posessed.
