Margrete Skulesdatter, ca. 1210-1270, was the daughter of Duke Skule Bårdsson . Was betrothed to Haakon Håkonsson in 1219 and married him in 1225. Their children were Hakon Young , Magnus Lagabøte and daughter Kristina , who married in Spain . The eldest son, Olav, died at the age of three.
During the conflict between Haakon and Skule she stood faithfully at her husband's side. After the king's death she went into the convent at Rein, as her father had founded on his family farm. An illuminated hymns and prayer book in Berlin the engravings collection must have belonged Margrete.
